Dozens of Zionist settlers, backed by Israeli occupation forces, stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque on Wednesday to mark the so-called Jewish Day of Atonement.

Palestinian media reported that dozens of settlers stormed the holy site a day after Zionist groups called for storming of Al-Aqsa for the Jewish holiday.

Israeli occupation authorities shut down beginning Tuesday afternoon for holiday, as occupation forces remained on high alert.

Israeli media reported that all flights in and out of Ben Gurion airport ceased afternoon on Tuesday and will resume on Wednesday night. Border crossings were also shut and will reopen late Wednesday, Times of Israel reported.

Palestinian media reported the roads closure, noting that the Israeli step hindered the movement of Palestinians in Al-Quds and the West Bank and caused traffic jam.
