Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah is to deliver a speech today during a memorial ceremony of commander Talib Abdallah who was assassinated in an Israeli strike last week.
Sayyed Nasrallah will address the memorial service which will kick off at 17:00 (Beirut time) at Mujtaba Complex in Beirut’s southern suburb (Dahiyeh).
Martyr Abdallah (Abu Talib) was martyred along with three Hezbollah fighters in an Israeli strike in the southern town of Jwayya on Tuesday (June 11).
Sayyed Nasrallah’s speech comes a day after Hezbollah’s Military Media published a 9-minute drone footage showing Israeli military locations and installations in the Israeli occupied port city of Haifa and its surroundings. Tuesday’s video coincided with a visit paid by US envoy Amos Hochstein to Lebanon, where he met Lebanese officials in the latest US attempt to calm the front between the Zionist entity and Hezbollah.
Following the strike which assassinated commander Abu Talib, Hezbollah staged several strikes against Israeli targets in retaliation, with the Lebanese resistance movement staging last Thursday (June 13) the largest attack since the start of the war on October 8, 2023. Nearly 200 rockets, missiles and drones were deployed by Hezbollah’s Islamic Resistance fighters, targeting at least 6 military sites and barracks across the Zionist entity’s north.
In his last speech (on May 31), Sayyed Nasrallah emphasized the pivotal importance of the ongoing battle in southern Lebanon, stating that it symbolizes the future of Lebanon, its wealth, and sovereignty.
