Upon Hezbollah call, huge crowds gathered Saturday on Old Beirut Airport road to protest against the the aviation authorities’ decision to prevent the Iranian plane Mahan, carrying Lebanese passengers, from landing at Rafik Hariri Airport after a threat issued by the Israeli enemy to target he flight.
Holding a peaceful sit-in, the protesters chanted slogans which condemn the Israeli intervention and violation of the Lebanese sovereignty and urge teh authorities in Beirut to disobey the US-Zionist ‘orders’.
Deputy Head of Hezbollah politburo Mahmoud Komati hailed the crowds, stressing that “our permanent slogan is ‘Humiliation is far from us’.”
Komati indicated that Hezbollah is patient, but that patience is limited.
“This state must never accept the Israeli and US dictates, recalling the martyrs who made heavy sacrifices for the sake of the national dignity and sovereignty.”
It is humiliating for the Lebanese state to obey the Israeli dictates and prevent the Iranian plane’s landing at Beirut airport, he added.
Komati affirmed that the Resistance would never accept the Israeli humiliating interventions, highlighting the rejection of any Zionist occupation in South Lebanon.
Later on, the Lebanese security forces fired tear bombs at the peaceful protest, suffocating a number of participants.
It is worth noting that the peaceful protester opened the way for a number of UNIFIL vehicles to pass during the sit-in, which affirms their commitment to the main goal of the event exclusively.
Finally, Hezbollah concluded the protest as the organizers confirmed that the message was delivered.
